Let me introduce myself…
I am (or probably was; the mould growing on my head suggests I might, in fact, have been dead for some time) a delightfully morbid individual a bit twisted in the head. I enjoy odd words, tea parties with my cello and the company of my cats. When I’m not busy wondering what’s causing my strange urge to feast on brains, I spend my time practicing my art of writing, playing the cello and consuming caffeine. Also, being a collector by nature, I tend to gather shiny objects such as books, old photographs and strange curiosities.
My mind is plagued by an impossible dream that sneaked its way into my head sometime during my early years: one day, I hope to make a living as a writer. As of yet, none of my works have been published. This might be due to the fact that I have never offered them to publishers — my perfectionism and self-criticism prevent me from doing much else with my writings than sitting on top of them, moaning “This isn’t good, this isn’t good at all. I am doomed to fail, woe is me…” etc.
But there are good news! The script of my first novel (that I have been working on for since, uh, forever) is still very much a work-in-progress, but the work is advancing, and for once I feel like this might actually turn out to be something I could eventually send out to publishers. There is still much to be done, but I am is determined.
- I was born in Helsinki, Finland, in July 1988. Currently I reside somewhere in the digestive system of Cthulhu.
- I attended Viita-akatemia, a three-year writing school, during the years 2014-2017.
- I once won a squirrel-themed poetry contest in elementary school.
To this day, it is still my greatest literary achievement.
- I learned to read and write on my own at the age of five; before that, I was already obsessed with letters and writing — many of my earliest “drawings” were actually scribbles that tried to mimic written text.
